Location: Two sites, both in Berkshire Organic Research Centre - Hamstead Marshall, Nr Newbury, Berkshire RG20 0HR and Sheepdrove Organic Farm.
This event at the Organic Research Centre (Hamstead Marshall) and Sheepdrove Organic Farm (Lambourn) will provide the opportunity to hear about and to visit three innovative arable research projects on site.
This will include the use of legume mixtures for optimizing the fertility building phase in the rotation; on-farm farmer-led breeding to develop locally adapted wheat that is more resilient to the challenges posed by climate change; and an experiment looking at the potential use pea-cereal mixtures as chicken feed grown on-farm.
